Abstract:
The present invention relates to an automation system for the semi-mold preparation of a contact lens comprising: a lens mold supply means which uniformly arranges a plurality of lens molds where a contact lens is adhered and simultaneously supplies the lens mold one by one to a contact lens cutting means; the contact lens cutting means for processing the contact lens adhered to the supplied lens mold; an outer surface polishing means for processing the cut surface of the cut contact lens with a polishing machine to remove an uneven portion; a lens mold separation means for separating the contact lens of which the outer surface is polished from the lens mold; and an edge polishing means for polishing the concave edge of the contact lens separated from the lens mold. The transfer between the respective processes from the lens mold supply means to the lens mold separation means is carried out by automatically transferring the lens mold where a lens is adhered by a conveyer and/or a pick-up unit, and the transfer between the respective processes from the lens mold separation means to the edge polishing means is carried out by automatically transferring a lens carrier where a lens is accommodated by a conveyer and/or transfer tongs. Since the automation system for the semi-mold preparation of a contact lens according to the present invention enables the continuous and rapid processing of a contact lens, and also remarkably reduces the fraction defective that occurs during processing of a contact lens and can mass produce an accurate and fine contact lens due to the complete automation of contact lens preparation, it is a very useful and effective invention capable of lowering the manufacturing cost of a contact lens and remarkably improving productivity.
