Abstract:
Provided are a background model extraction device, and a method and device for detecting traffic congestion. The background model extraction device comprises: a first detection unit used to detect a moving speed of a preset region of a current image; and a first update unit. If the moving speed exceeds a first threshold, the first update unit takes a non-moving image pixel in the preset region as a background pixel to update a background model. The invention exhibits robust performance under different video conditions, and can increase accuracy of foreground image detection, thereby preventing a problem of low accuracy of foreground image detection resulting from foreground assimilation and foreground misidentification.
