Abstract:
A backlight device provided with the following: light-emitting units (2) comprising a plurality of light sources that emit different colors of light; a plurality of detection units (3), each of which detects the luminance of one of the light-emitting units via spectral sensitivity characteristics corresponding to the color of light emitted by that light-emitting unit; and a computation unit (5) that uses the luminance values detected by a plurality of the detection units to correct the luminance value detected by each detection unit, and on the basis of the corrected luminance values, computes a drive value for each of the light sources in the light-emitting units.
