Provided are a backlight module (100) and a liquid crystal display device. The backlight module (100) comprises a back plate (110), a light guide plate (120), a light source (130) and a plastic frame (140). An accommodating space is formed by the back plate (110) and the plastic frame (140), and is used for accommodating the light guide plate (120) and the light source (130). The light guide plate (120) is arranged close to the back plate (110). The light guide plate (120) comprises a first side surface (121) and a second side surface (122) that are oppositely arranged. The first side surface (121) is arranged close to the light source (130) and serves as the light-incident surface of the light guide plate (120). The back plate (110) comprises a back plate body (111) and at least one pressing mechanism (112). The pressing mechanism (112) extends into the accommodating space from the back plate body (111) and abuts against the second side surface (122) of the light guide plate (120), so that the first side surface (121) of the light guide plate (120) is close to the light-output surface of the light source (130); and the pressing mechanism (112) and the back plate body (111) are integrally formed. Therefore, the light guide plate (120) of the backlight module (100) and the liquid crystal display device has a high light-incident rate.
