Abstract:
A backlight module (1) and a preparation method therefor, and a display device (100), relating to the technical field of backlight. The backlight module (1) comprises a liquid crystal optical layer (12), a first quarter-wave plate (13) and a dimming layer (14), which are arranged in a stacked manner, wherein the dimming layer (14) comprises a plurality of quantum rods; a long-axis direction of each quantum rod is consistent with a polarization direction of the first quarter-wave plate (13); the liquid crystal optical layer (12) is used for transmitting part of circularly polarized light from a light source to the first quarter-wave plate (13); the first quarter-wave plate (13) is used for converting, into linearly polarized light, the circularly polarized light transmitted by the liquid crystal optical layer (12), and emitting the linearly polarized light into the dimming layer (14); and the quantum rods are used for emitting light of other colors different from a first color under the excitation of the linearly polarized light, such that the dimming layer (14) emits the light of other colors different from the first color, the first color being the color of the light source. A backlight module having wide color gamut is realized.
