Abstract:
Provided is a bacteriostatic method for inhibiting the proliferation of a bacterium while reducing the influence on a human body. The bacteriostatic method for inhibiting the proliferation of a bacterium in a target region, the method comprising a step (a) for irradiating the target region with ultraviolet ray having a main peak wavelength of 200 to 230 nm inclusive at an average illuminance of DMax(μW/cm2) or less defined by formula (1). (1) DMax = 9391.1 × exp(-0.043λ)
In formula (1), λ represents a main peak wavelength (nm).
