Abstract:
Provided is a ball bearing which makes it possible to increase lubricating oil retention without decreasing holder strength, to prevent seizure even in a lubrication environment exhibiting a low lubricating oil amount, and to suppress an increase in friction resistance during bearing rotation. This ball bearing holder has a gap between the ball and the pocket, and is provided so as to be capable of moving in the range of the gap in the axial direction and the circumferential direction. The inner-circumferential surface of the pocket is provided with an oil-retaining part for retaining the lubricating oil. The holder is provided with an oil reservoir for storing the lubricating oil and supplying the stored lubricating oil to the pocket. When the holder moves toward one side in the axial or circumferential direction, the oil-retaining part contacts the ball. When the holder moves toward the other side in the axial or circumferential direction, the oil-retaining part separates from the ball.
