Abstract:
A ball groove milling-free machining method for an inner race of an automobile universal joint. The method comprises the following steps: blanking; pre-upsetting; pre-forging; inner hole punching; pretreatment; and finish forging, which step comprises performing divided-flow forging on a pre-forged piece (13) by using a divided-flow forging die. The divided-flow forging die comprises a lower die, an upper die (20) and a reaming mandrel (30), wherein a lower-section ball groove profile hole is formed in the lower die; a star-shaped hole (21) and an upper-section ball groove profile hole (22) are formed in the upper die; and the reaming mandrel passes through the star-shaped hole, and a material dividing cavity (40) is formed between the reaming mandrel and a hole wall of the star-shaped hole. A final forged piece (14) is provided, at the upper end, with a divided-flow block (141) formed in the material dividing cavity, and is provided with ball grooves (143) formed in the lower-section and upper-section ball groove profile holes. The method further comprises: finish machining, which step comprises: finishing the ball grooves of the final forged piece, and turning off the outer-circle allowance and the divided-flow block from the final forged piece. In the method, divided-flow forging is performed on a pre-forged piece during final forging, such that the forming force during forging can be reduced, and the dimensional precision and stability of a final forged piece after finish forging can be improved, thereby omitting subsequent milling machining on ball grooves, and thus reducing costs.
