Abstract:
A ball for a ball−point pen having a plurality of holes in the surface thereof, wherein the surface of the ball is formed of the holes and a flat part without the holes, the flat part is formed of a smooth mirror surface, the holes have opening parts with a major axis of less than 10 μm, Ra, Ry, or Rz indicating the smoothness of the flat part on the surface of the ball is 0.01 μm or below, 0.08 μm or below, or 0.06 μm or below, respectively, and a boundary between the holes and the flat part is generally curved.
