Abstract:
A band saw machine is provided with a band saw blade and band saw blade guide devices. The band saw blade guide devices are configured so that, relative to one of the band saw blade guide devices, the other band saw blade guide device can move in the direction in which the other band saw blade guide device approaches and separates from the one of the band saw blade guide devices. The band saw blade guide devices are each provided with: a vibration application means for applying vibration to the band saw blade, the vibration acting in the direction in which the band saw blade cuts into a workpiece; and a pressing member holder provided with pressing rollers or pressing members for pressing the back surface of the band saw blade, the pressing member holder being provided and supported in a swingable manner at substantially the center of a swing arm, the swing arm being provided so as to be swingable in the direction in which the swing arm approaches and separates from the back surface of the band saw blade.
