Abstract:
A battery control device according to the present invention, comprises: a plurality of switching circuits serially connected, one-to-one, to a plurality of battery packs; a plurality of sensing circuits which are connected, one-to-one, to the plurality of battery packs, and which generate sensing signals indicating the voltage and current of each battery pack; and a control circuit for determining the voltage, the state of health (SOH) and the state of charge (SOC) of each of the plurality of battery packs on the basis of the sensing signals, wherein the control circuit is configured to: set all of the plurality of battery packs as discharge candidates if there is no battery pack having an SOH of which the difference with a maximum SOH of the plurality of battery packs exceeds a reference SOH; apply grouping rules to the discharge candidates to set at least one first pack group including at least one battery pack; set the first pack group as a discharge group if the first pack group is one; turn on each switching circuit corresponding to each battery pack included in the discharge group; and turn off switching circuits corresponding to each of the remaining battery packs that exclude the discharge group.
