Abstract:

Disclosed is a battery pack having improved safety during a short circuit. The battery pack according to the present invention comprises: a plurality of battery modules that includes at least one unit cell, a case accommodating the unit cell, and a bus bar electrically connected to the unit cell; and connecting bars connecting the battery modules that are adjacent to each other among the plurality of battery modules. At least one of the connecting bars comprises: a first metal plate; a second metal plate that is disposed away from the first metal plate; and a metal bridge connecting the first metal plate to the second metal plate, and having a melting point which is lower than the melting point of the metal plate. According to the present invention, a connecting bar is applied that is easily broken in the case where an overcurrent flows in the battery pack so that higher safety is ensured while the battery pack is in use.
