Abstract:
In order to provide a battery system with which a decrease in performance can be suppressed and safety can be ensured, and to provide an electric vehicle using this battery system, this battery system (1) is equipped with: a first battery (10) provided with a discharge characteristic having an unstable region at the discharge end period, wherein the rate of change of the voltage with respect to the discharge capacity is steep, and a stable region between the initial discharge period and the discharge end period, wherein the rate of change of the voltage with respect to the discharge capacity is smaller than that of the unstable region; a second battery (20) provided with a discharge characteristic having a stable region with a lower voltage than the stable region of the first battery (10); and a protection circuit (11) that disconnects the first battery (10) at least when an over-discharge state occurs in the first battery (10). When the first battery (10) is disconnected by the protection circuit (11), power is supplied to the load on the basis of the remaining capacity of the second battery (20).
