Abstract:
A battery system (1) is provided with: a secondary battery (10), the deterioration of which is to be measured; a storage unit (33) for storing characteristic information including the measurement frequency, the measurement temperature and the initial capacity limit for a secondary battery having the same specifications as the secondary battery (10); a temperature measurement unit (50) for measuring the temperature of the secondary battery (10); a power source unit (20) for applying an alternating current signal having a measurement frequency in the range from 0.5 mHz to less than 10.0 mHz to the secondary battery (10) at a measurement temperature in the range of 40-70°C, inclusive, on the basis of the information in the storage unit (33); a measurement unit (32) for measuring the impedance of the secondary battery (10) using the alternating current signal applied by the power source unit (20); and a calculation unit (34) for calculating the degree of deterioration using the initial capacity limit and the capacity limit of the secondary battery (10) as calculated using the measured value from the measurement unit (32).
