Title:
BATTERY VOLTAGE DETECTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2000/016108
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A battery unit (20) comprises a number of cells connected in series, and a voltage detector (13) is connected with each cell block (19) consisting of a plurality of cells. In the voltage detection circuit (13), the voltage across each cell block (19) is detected by a differential amplifier (2), converted to digital form, and applied to a controller through a photocoupler (7). The differential amplifier (2) and the cell block (19) are connected through optical relays (5, 6), which are closed by an ON/OFF control signal only when voltage is detected, so that no current leakage occurs. The differential amplifier (2) and an analog-to-digital converter (3) are powered by the cell block (19) through regulators (11, 12), respectively, to eliminate the effects of noise.
