Abstract:
This battery is provided with a battery element, a container and a valve device. The container is configured from a multilayer body and has an internal space in which the battery element is contained, while comprising a first container part that covers the internal space from a first side in the thickness direction of the battery and a second container part that covers the internal space from a second side that is opposite to the first side in the thickness direction of the battery. The valve device is attached to the container and enables the internal space of the container to be in communication with the external space. The first container part and the second container part are fusion bonded with each other along the respective peripheral edges, thereby providing the container with a peripheral edge bonded part. The valve device is sandwiched between the first container part and the second container part in the peripheral edge bonded part; and the inner end of the valve device protrudes from the inner edge of the peripheral edge bonded part toward the internal space.
