Abstract:
A bearing device (30) is provided with: at least one bearing (5) that has rolling bodies and a raceway surface, and that supports a main shaft (4); a member (6 or 5ga) that is arranged in a passage through which pressing force for generating a preload is transmitted between the rolling bodies and the raceway surface; and at least one load sensor element (50) secured to the member (6 or 5ga) and capable of measuring the pressing force. At least one load sensor element (50) is a chip component that includes a thin-film pattern (52), the resistance of which changes in response to the pressing force, and a protective layer (54), which insulates and protects the thin-film pattern (52).
