Provided is a bearing device for a wheel containing an in-wheel type motor such that air-tightness is improved and reliability is increased. A connecting shaft (17) which is a component of a planetary gear device is equipped with a disk section (17a) whereon carrier pins are integrally provided in a protruding condition; and a shaft section (28) which extends axially from this disk section (17a) with a shoulder section (27) therebetween, and has serrations (17b) formed on the outer periphery. One end of a tightening section (12) is formed to be flat. This tightening section (12) and the disk section (17a) are made to abut each other. Furthermore, a cylindrical section (12a) is formed in the inside diameter of the tightening section (12). The shoulder section (27) of the connecting shaft (17) is fitted into this cylindrical section (12a) with a predetermined radial gap therebetween. An annular groove (27a) is formed on the outer periphery of the shoulder section (27) of the connecting shaft (17). A seal ring (29) is installed in this annular groove (27a) in such a way as to be in elastic contact with the cylindrical section (12a).
