Abstract:

A beauty instrument comprising a light emitting section, a capacitor, and a current control section. The light emitting section includes a discharge lamp, and a light guide for guiding a light from the discharge lamp. The capacitor supplies a current to the discharge lamp. The current control section controls the current being supplied from the capacitor to the discharge lamp. The current control section controls the current being supplied to the discharge lamp at a constant level until the end of irradiation in one irradiation period. At the end of irradiation, the discharge lamp is supplied with a current corresponding to the capacitor voltage which is lower than the current during constant current control.
