Abstract:
To provide a belt conveyor abnormality detection system that, if frequency components of a motor current that drives a belt conveyor are used as features, can separate types of abnormality even if a plurality of abnormalities affect the same frequency component. A belt conveyor abnormality detection device 9 that detects an abnormality in a belt conveyor driven by a motor, said abnormality detection device having: a specific frequency component extraction unit 11 that uses a mechanical specification value of the belt conveyor to extract an amplitude value of a specific frequency component in the motor current; a separate feature extraction unit 12 that extracts, as separate features, features pertaining to a waveform of the change over time in the amplitude value, and features pertaining to the frequency spectrum shape of the motor current; and an abnormality classification unit 16 that, on the basis of the separate features, classifies the abnormalities by type.
