Abstract:

Binoculars which have a pair of mirror bodies each having a zoom optical system and a linking part that links the pair of mirror bodies so as to be capable of relative rotation around a shaft of a shaft member parallel to the optical axis of each of the zoom optical systems and which carry out eye width adjustment by relatively rotating the pair of mirror bodies centered on the shaft member, wherein the binoculars are characterized by being provided with a click position setting mechanism for setting a click position in a prescribed angle of rotation for the pair of mirror bodies, by the click position setting mechanism being formed from a rotating member that is provided on the shaft member so as to be capable of rotation around the shaft of the shaft member and that faces the linking part in the axial direction of the shaft member, a protruding part that is provided on either the linking part or rotating member, and a recessed part that is provided on the other of either the linking part or rotating member and that can latch with the protruding part, and further by being provided with a locking/release member that locks the rotation of the rotating member with respect to the shaft member and releases the same.
