Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a lubricant base oil, said method making it possible to produce a lubricant base oil having a high viscosity index at high yield. One embodiment of the method for producing the lubricant base oil according to the present invention comprises a first step in which a stock oil is subjected to hydrorefining and an object to be treated is obtained, and a second step in which the object to be treated is subjected to hydroisomerization using a hydroisomerization catalyst. The stock oil contains a petroleum-derived hydrocarbon oil and a synthetic oil synthesized by the Fischer-Tropsch process. The petroleum-derived hydrocarbon oil content in the stock oil is 60-90% by volume, and the synthetic oil content in the stock oil is 10-40% by volume.
