Abstract:
Biocompatible polyurethanes or polyurethane ureas having phosphorylcholine structures represented by general formula (1) in the side chain; and antithrombotic medical devices made by using them. In said formula, R?1� is C�1?-C�20?alkyl, C�6?-C�12?aryl, C�7?-C�20?aralkyl or a group of the general formula: R?4� - (A)�n? - (wherein A is C�2?-C�10?oxyalkylene, and (A)�n? may be constituted of one kind of oxyalkylene units or of two or more kinds of oxyalkylene units arranged in block or at random; n is an integer of 1 to 30; and R?4� is C�1?-C�20?alkyl, C�6?-C�12?aryl or C�7?-C�20?aralkyl); and R?2� and R?3� are each independently C�1?-C�20?alkyl, C�6?-C�12?aryl or C�7?-C�20?aralkyl.
