Abstract:
The present application provides a biodegradable magnesium alloy free of rare earth elements, wherein the magnesium alloy comprises the following elements in percentage by mass: 1.0%-5.0% Zn; 0.1%-1.0% Mn; 0.1%-1.0% Ca; 0.1-1.0% Sr; 0.1%-3.0% Sn; 0.1%-0.8% Zr; and Mg as a balance, and the impurities in the magnesium alloy do not comprise rare earth elements. The present application further provides a preparation method for the described biodegradable magnesium alloy and use of the described biodegradable magnesium alloy in the preparation of medical apparatus and instruments. According to the present application, Mg is used as a main material and mixed with a specific proportion of Zn, Ca, and Mn to prepare an alloy, which has a controllable degradation rate and strong mechanical strength, is free of elements harmful to the human body, and does not affect the human body upon degradation in the human body.
