Abstract:
The present invention acquires biological information of a small animal without being affected by motion of the small animal and without imposing stress on the small animal. The present invention comprises the steps of: acquiring image information of a forepaw and/or a hindpaw of a small quadrupedal animal; extracting predetermined signal information from the acquired image information; and acquiring biological information of the small animal by processing the extracted predetermined signal information. The present invention further comprises the step of imaging the ventral side of the small animal, and further comprises the step of imaging the small animal from below the position of the small animal.
