Abstract:
Disclosed is a biometric authentication device, comprising: a casing body; a light source unit which is installed on the upper surface of the casing body and which comprises a light source; an aperture part which is formed upon the upper surface of the casing body and which is positioned lower than the light source; and an image capture part which is installed within the casing body. With this device, the longitudinal direction of the casing body and the optical axis of the light source intersect, and an image is captured with the image capture part via the aperture part, said image being of characteristics of a living body of a user upon which irradiation light from the light source has been irradiated.
