Abstract:
A blender (1a) comprising a container (20), a pump (28), a cutting part (41), a drive part (26), and a control unit (29). The container accommodates a to-be-pulverized material. The pump discharges air from within the container. The cutting part pulverizes the to-be-pulverized material. The drive part causes the cutting part to rotate. The control unit controls the pump and the drive part, and executes a depressurization step and a pulverization step. In the depressurization step, the control unit controls the pump and reduces the atmospheric pressure within the container to 0.05 atm or less. In the pulverization step, the control unit controls the drive part, causes the cutting part to rotate at a first rotation speed in a first prescribed period, and causes the cutting part to rotate at a second rotation speed that is higher than the first rotation speed in a second prescribed period that follows the first prescribed period. According to the present embodiment, it is possible to pulverize the entirety of a to-be-pulverized material that includes a solid and a liquid within a container at 0.05 atm or less.
