Abstract:
Provided is a body water content meter in which the water content inside the body of a subject is measured by bringing a sensor unit into contact with the body surface of the subject. The body water content meter comprises: a water content detection unit that is arranged on the contact surface of the sensor unit and that detects water content by measuring the capacitance of the body surface of the subject; a stimulation application unit that applies stimulation to the body surface of the subject; and a notification unit that reports the presence or absence of peripheral neuropathy at the body surface on the basis of the difference between a first water content amount detected by the water content detection unit before stimulation is applied to the body surface by the stimulation application unit and a second water content amount detected by the water content detection unit after stimulation has been applied to the body surface by the stimulation application unit.
