Abstract:
The present invention provides a brake device for a vehicle in which the relationship between a current and a braking force in each of electric brakes (61-64) provided in correspondence with respective wheels (91-94) has a hysteresis characteristic. When the current increases, the braking force increases along a positive efficiency line. When the current decreases to a retention critical value from an inversion value at which the current inverts from increasing to decreasing, the braking force is retained constant. When the current decreases from the retention critical value, the braking force decreases along a reverse efficiency line. A braking force retention segment is defined to be the segment in which the braking force is retained constant when the current decreases from the inversion value to the retention critical value. A positive efficiency brake wheel is defined to be a wheel corresponding to an electric brake in which the braking force increases along the positive efficiency line, and a braking force retention wheel is defined to be a wheel corresponding to an electric brake that operates in the braking force retention segment. A braking force control unit (40) alternately switches between the positive efficiency brake wheel and the braking force retention wheel while the requested braking force for a vehicle (900) increases or is retained.
