Abstract:
Provided is a braking control device which can provide auxiliary braking force only in required areas, such as when there are curves, including blind corners, along the path of travel and which can provide the auxiliary braking force without creating handling discomfort in the driver. This braking control device calculates an auxiliary braking force (to which discomfort reduction processing has been applied) that would reduce braking handling discomfort in the driver of a vehicle in relation to a target braking force calculated on the basis of a normative braking force and input braking force information (a converted value of the driver input braking force) and uses the auxiliary braking force to calculate a final target braking force (the converted value of the driver input braking force with the auxiliary braking force taken into account).
