Description:
BRAKING SYSTEM WITH PALLET

Technical Field

The invention relates to a braking system designed for use in vehicles.

The invention especially relates to a braking system in wheeled vehicles in addition to the existing braking systems that provides a shorter braking distance by increasing the surface area of the vehicle in contact with the ground with the pallet system, safely reducing the stopping distance.

State of the Art

The braking systems currently used in wheeled vehicles are of vital importance. It is a system that prevents the loss of hundreds of lives and property every day and it is one of the most important points that should be taken care of for a vehicle. Every automobile brand continues its efforts to get ahead in this field. In order to promote their new technologies, they focus on this subject in advertisements, emphasize the safe braking distance, and give a safety priority message.

In general, braking is performed in vehicles by two methods. Engine braking system or hydraulic pad disc clutch braking system are the most commonly used methods. These braking systems are getting smarter with new developments, surroundings are monitored with many sensors, vehicles make automatic braking at times such as when the vehicle user misses something, or he/she is unable to see or in case of an emergency. They receive considerable software support at this stage.

Even though computer support is provided, and every point of the vehicle is equipped with cameras and sensors, the biggest problem in the previous technique is that improvements to reduce the speed of the vehicle and to make braking are insufficient. Compression of vehicle wheels with brake pads or engine braking systems are methods that eventually slow down the vehicle, but they cannot create the desired effect in cases where surrounding conditions change. There is a need for innovations that will contribute to braking and that will increase the friction surface.

Some studies have been carried out about this problem to increase the contact of the vehicle with the surface.

US patent application numbered US2006042855 can be shown as an example. This application is related to wrapping the wheel at the top with a curved housing at the brake moment and applying the brake in this way. This patent application cannot provide the desired benefit. Turkish patent application numbered 2010/11174 is another application related to the state of the art. Braking is carried out with pallet systems pushed under the tires by means of pneumatic or hydraulic piston. Again, driving on tires is insufficient to provide the desired benefits.

As a result, due to the disadvantages described above and due to the inadequacy of existing solutions on the subject, it was deemed necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field.

Object of the Invention

The invention aims to provide a structure with different technical characteristics that brings a new initiative in this field, unlike the structures used in the state of the art.

The primary object of the invention is to shorten the safe braking distance by increasing the contact surface of the vehicle with the ground.

The other object of the invention is to ensure that the vehicle can brake on all types of ground and conditions with extra pallets that will increase the contact surface, without being affected by ground conditions and without being related to the current condition of the wheels.

Another object of the invention, in addition to increasing the friction surface, is to shorten the braking distance to a high degree by driving tabs inside the pallet braking system into the ground surface and scraping the surface.

In order to achieve the above objectives, the invention includes a vehicle, a body, a lower plate, a tab, a pushing system and a joint mechanism.

Detailed Description of the Invention

This detailed description describes the preferred embodiments of the invention only for the purpose of making the subject better understood and in such a way not to create any limiting effects.

The braking system with pallet can be applied under all wheeled vehicles and has a detachable structure. A lower plate (3) located on a body (2) is preferably selected as a tire in such a way as to maximize friction similar to vehicle tires, paving the way for use for the longest time without replacement. The lower plate (3) shortens the stopping distance on asphalt and smooth grounds by scraping on the ground. A tab (4) shortens the stopping distance by sinking into the ground on uneven floors such as snow, ice, soil or mud, where the lower plate (3) cannot work efficiently. The body (2) basically houses the entire structure. The system is connected to a vehicle (1 ) with a joint mechanism (6).

With the activation of the system under user control or automatically, a pushing system (5) allows the opening of the joint mechanism (6) of the braking system with pallet and firstly the lower plate

(3) contacts the ground. With the increased friction after the contact, a brake force is formed that reinforces the brake force generated on the wheels of the vehicle in the present situation.

The stopping elements are located on the body (2), and they operate in a 2-stage structure. The pushing system (5) performs a 1 -stage push motion to bring the lower plate (3) into contact with the ground, and a 2-stage push motion to bring the tabs (4) into contact with the ground. The tabs

(4) are preferably selected as tungsten carbide metal tabs. The tabs (4) protrude from the surface of the lower plate (3) through the holes located along its thickness. When the system is switched to passive position, all these described operations occur in the opposite direction. The tabs (4) are preferably in a structure that can enter and exit the lower plate (3) as plurality of small pieces. When the pushing system (6) retracts the pallet system, the tungsten carbide tabs (4) first enter the lower plate (3), the lower plate (3) settles under/into the vehicle (1) together with the body (2) by means of joint mechanism.

Basically, the operation principle of the braking system with pallet can be such that it can be activated by the user to control it with hand or with the foot (positioning to the pedal position) using a lever or pedal positioned at a desired point of the vehicle according to the user's preference. In addition, the system can be activated automatically with the data received from the vehicle via sensors without the user having to take any action. It can be designed according to the desired mode.

Depending on the ground conditions, the system automatically detects via sensors which stopping element needs to be selected and the corresponding stop element is activated. It can be manual or automatic, using the principle of operation of cameras and sensors used in the present technique.
