Abstract:
The purpose of this invention is to provide a Brillouin light sensing device and light sensing method that make it possible to reduce introduction costs. A Brillouin light sensing device according to this invention comprises: a sensing fiber 90 in which a plurality of optical fibers having different Brillouin frequency shift characteristics are arranged in parallel with each other; an optical measurement instrument 11 for producing Brillouin scattered light by causing light pulses to enter into at least two of the optical fibers of the sensing fiber 90 and measuring the beat frequency of the beat signal between the Brillouin scattered light at a given position on the sensing fiber 90; and a computation processing unit 12 for acquiring a physical quantity of the sensing fiber 90 at the given position from the beat frequency acquired by the optical measurement instrument 11.
