Abstract:
The present invention provides a broadcast transmission system with which, even if a new terrestrial wave broadcast and a conventional terrestrial digital television broadcast are both present, the video can be appropriately reproduced by a television receiver which can reproduce a video according to a signal based on the conventional terrestrial digital television broadcast transmission scheme, and by a television receiver which can reproduce a video according to a signal based on the new terrestrial wave broadcast transmission scheme. The broadcast transmission system: generates data for transmission by a one-polarization antenna such that an AC signal or a TMCC signal is provided in data for first image quality reproduction among data for transmission by the one-polarization antenna; and generates data for transmission by an another-polarization antenna such that a null carrier is provided in a position corresponding to the position at which the AC signal or the TMCC signal was provided, in data to be transmitted by the other-polarization antenna.
