Abstract:
According to the present invention, (1) the position of a burr on an upset tube is detected by a burr position detector, and (2) a burr removing robot is operated on the basis of information, such as the size of a main tube, the shape of the upset tube and the position detected in (1) above of the burr, whereby the burr is removed by a grindstone as a burr removing grinder profiles the upset tube using a profiling action of a profiling claw, (3) the grindstone of the burr removing grinder being repaired at predetermined intervals of time of use thereof in compensation for the wear thereon, (4) the burr removing grinder as a whole or the grindstone alone being renewed when the grindstone of the burr removing grinder has reached its abrasion limit.
