Abstract:
The present invention is a cable having a connector, said cable comprising the following: a cable that has an optical fiber for transmitting an optical signal; and a connector containing a substrate to which a photoelectric conversion unit is mounted, said photoelectric conversion unit being optically coupled to the end face of the optical fiber. This cable having a connector is characterized in that, letting a front/back axis lie along the cable extending from the connector, with the direction of the cable from the point of view of the connector being "backwards", the opposite direction being "frontwards", the direction of the photoelectric conversion unit from the point of view of the substrate being "upwards", and the opposite direction being "downwards", the optical fiber is laid out inside the connector such that at least three bend sections in which the optical fiber is bent in the shape of a "U" so as to change directions along the aforementioned front/back axis are formed, one of front two bend sections is located below the substrate, and the other is located above the substrate.
