Abstract:
Provided is a calcium carbonate filler which, when combined with a resin and made into a resin composition, has excellent mouldability, dispersibility, gas marks (bubbles), and hue, and produces a film or the like that has excellent optical characteristics such as reflectance and light resistance. The calcium carbonate filler for resin is characterised by satisfying expressions (a), (b), and (c). (a) 1.0 ≤ Sw ≤ 10.0 (m2/g) (b) 0.01 ≤ Tw ≤ 0.5 (wt%) (c) 80 ≤ Lw ≤ 90 Sw: BET specific surface area (m2/g) measured by a BET specific surface area measurement device (Macsorb manufactured by Mountech Co., Ltd.), Tw: weight loss value (wt%) at 200-300°C measured by a thermogravimetric device (Thermo Plus EVO II manufactured by Rigaku Corporation), Lw: degree of whiteness (L value) measured by a spectroscopic colour difference meter (ZE-2000 manufactured by Nippon Denshoku Industries Co., Ltd.).
