Abstract:
This calibration assisting device is for assisting calibration of a bend detection unit (22), and is used in a bending system (1) comprising a flexible part (21) having an elongate shape and flexibility, and a bend detecting unit (22) provided in the flexible part to detect the amount of bending thereof. This calibration assisting device is provided with a calibrator (30) which is configured so as to restrict deformation and movement of the flexible part in both directions along a first axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the flexible part, and to restrict deformation and movement of the flexible part in at least one direction along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis and the longitudinal axis.
