Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: a brake block that moves back and forth relative to a caliper body supported by a vehicle body, and is able to apply a friction force by coming into sliding contact with a disc; an anchor pin that supports a guide plate, which supports the brake block, in such a manner that the guide plate freely moves back and forth relative to the caliper body; a piston that moves back and forth relative to the caliper body, and is able to press the brake block via the guide plate; a diaphragm that is in contact with the rear surface of the piston, defines a pressure chamber inside the caliper body, and forces the piston to move as a result of being elastically deformed by the pressure of compressed air inside the pressure chamber; and a piston plate that supports the piston in such a manner that the piston is in slidable contact with the anchor pin. The piston has a plurality of heat insulating members, the tips of which project toward the guide plate.
