Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a cam clutch that can switch an operation mode, improve the stability of a clutch operation, and obtain high responsiveness. Said purpose is achieved by a configuration in which: an operation mode switching means (180) having a cam orientation change unit (185) for forcibly tilting each of a plurality of cams (140) biased by a biasing means to contact an inner ring (110) and an outer ring (120) is drivably provided independently of the rotational operation of the inner ring (110) and the outer ring (120); a load support point (Sp) is formed at a radial position between a load acting point (Ap) on the cam (140) by the cam orientation change unit (185) and a distal-side contact point (Ep) of the cam (140) with a bearing ring located on a radially distal side with respect to the load acting point (Ap); and a radial length (d1) between the load acting point (Ap) and the load support point (Sp) is made greater than a radial length (d2) between the load support point (Sp) and the distal-side contact point (Ep).
