A camera module comprising: a lens unit having a lens; a retaining member to which an imaging element is provided; and a hard resin engaging member. A surface intersecting with the direction of the optical axis of the lens is provided to at least a portion of the engaging member, and the lens unit and the retaining member are engaged at said surface.
