Abstract:
The camera and operation control method of the present invention make the image presented by an electronic viewfinder larger than the image presented by an optical viewfinder. The finder device of the camera of the present invention is provided with an area (63B) for displaying part of the display image from an electronic viewfinder next to an area (63A) for displaying an optical image of a subject. When set to a dual optical/electronic viewfinder, an optically formed image (70) of the subject is displayed in the area (63A), and a part (71) of an image of the subject captured by a solid-state electronic imaging device is displayed in the area (63B). When set to an electronic viewfinder, an image of the subject that is captured by the solid-state electronic imaging device and that is large in the horizontal direction is displayed across both of the areas (63A) and (63B).
