Abstract:
The camera and operation control method of the present invention make it easy to see an optical image of a subject and an image of the subject captured by an imaging element that are arranged in a finder device even if the pupil of a user moves. An image (91) of a subject that is optically captured using an objective lens (concave lens) (61) and an eyepiece lens (66) can be viewed by a pupil (75). A light-shielding plate (80) is provided to one part of the front of the objective lens (61), and a light-shielded area (93) is created by the light-shielding plate (80). When an image of the subject that is displayed on one part of the display screen of an electronic viewfinder (65) is captured, the image of the subject is reflected using a prism (63) so that said image appears to overlap with the light-shielded area (93). The range of the light-shielded area (93) moves when the pupil (75) moves from the optical axis (L) at a virtual image finder device, so the light-shielding plate (80) is moved in accordance with the position of the pupil (75) in order to keep the range of the light-shielded area (93) constant even when the pupil (75) moves.
