Abstract:
Provided is a capsule endoscope, which is equipped with a capsule body, a fin and a sack and can be easily advanced even in circumstances in which advancement is easily hindered. The capsule endoscope (1) is equipped with: a capsule body (3) in which a forward image pickup device for imaging the forward direction and a rear image pickup device for imaging the rear direction are built-in; a fin (4) on which a magnet that moves when subjected to an alternating magnetic field is loaded and which elastically deforms and oscillates as a result of the movement of said magnet; and a sac (5) to which the front end (4b) of the fin (4) is joined at a position shifted downward from the axial line of the capsule body (3), the sac being mounted by inserting the back end of the capsule body (3) and adhering the sac tightly around same by elastic deformation and the sac being provided with an opening of a hollow section near the front end of the fin (4). In a liquid, the capsule endoscope advances by oscillation of the fin (4) in the vertical direction.
