Abstract:
Disclosed is a highly reliable car position detection device that measures the position of a car on the basis of an image in a hoistway. This car position detection device comprises: an image sensor (9a) that is installed in a car (1) and acquires an image of the surface of a guide rail (5a) that guides the car; and a safety controller (8) that calculates the position of the car on the basis of the surface image acquired by the image sensor. The safety controller is provided with an image memory that records surface images acquired by the image sensor. The safety controller determines whether or not the car is moving during the suspension of power supply to an elevator on the basis of the surface image recorded by the image memory when the power supply to the elevator is stopped and the surface image acquired by the image sensor when the power is restored.
