Title:
CATALYST FOR DECOMPOSITION OF NITROUS OXIDE, METHOD FOR PRODUCING CATALYST FOR DECOMPOSITION OF NITROUS OXIDE, AND METHOD FOR PROCESSING NITROUS OXIDE-CONTAINING GAS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/047484
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a catalyst for decomposition of nitrous oxide, which is highly active at low temperatures and is capable of efficiently decomposing and removing nitrous oxide without being affected by nitrogen oxide or carbon dioxide even in cases where the nitrogen oxide or the carbon dioxide is contained in a gas to be processed. A catalyst for decomposition of nitrous oxide of the present invention contains a cobalt oxide as a catalyst component A and a compound of at least one metal element as a catalyst component B. This catalyst for decomposition of nitrous oxide is characterized in that: the atomic ratio of the catalyst component B to the catalyst component A is from 0.0005 to 0.15; and the melting point of an oxide of the metal element is within the range from 200˚C to 1,000˚C and/or the ionic radius of the metal element of the catalyst component B is within the range from 0.90Å to 1.88Å.
