Abstract:
Provided is a catalyzer that is for purifying exhaust gas of a gasoline engine and that has high NH3 purification performance after endurance. The catalyzer for purifying exhaust gas of a gasoline engine disclosed herein is formed so as to be disposed in an exhaust path of a gasoline engine. The catalyzer for purifying exhaust gas is provided with a base material, an NH3 adsorption layer containing proton-type zeolite, and a catalyst layer containing a noble metal catalyst. The NH3 adsorption layer is laminated to the catalyst layer so as to be located closer to the base material side as compared to the catalyst layer. The basic backbone of the proton-type zeolite practically consists of four-membered rings, six-membered rings, and eight-membered rings.
