Abstract:
A catheter assembly which provides an increased freedom of selection of a guide wire to be used.
A catheter assembly (10) is provided with an outer catheter (11) and an inner catheter (12). The outer catheter (11) is a catheter for introducing a balloon catheter, etc. to a lesion, and the inner catheter (12) is an insertion aid which, when inserting the outer catheter (11) into an organism, precedes the outer catheter (11) to aid the insertion. An inner opening (23b) which is open on the proximal side as an opening for a tube hole for a guide wire, the tube hole being formed in the inner catheter (12), and an outer opening (43a) which is open on the proximal side as an opening for an outer tube hole formed in the outer catheter (11) are formed in the intermediate positions in the axial direction. The openings (23b, 43a) are formed at the positions on the same line so as to be tilted relative to the axial direction.
