Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cathode active material using a porous carbon structure, a preparation method therefor, and a sodium-sulfur dioxide (Na-SO2) secondary battery having the same. The sodium-sulfur dioxide secondary battery according to the present invention comprises: an anode made of an inorganic material containing sodium; a cathode comprising, as a cathode active material, a porous carbon structure synthesized by using, as precursors, sucrose and a colloidal silica (nano-silica) having a pore size of 20 nm or less; and a sulfur dioxide-based inorganic electrolyte solution containing an inorganic liquid electrolyte containing sulfur dioxide (SO2) and a sodium salt. The cathode active material synthesized by using sucrose and a colloidal silica as precursors can be improved in specific surface area and porosity compared with a conventional porous carbon material.
