Abstract:
The present invention provides: a cell carrier that contains nanofibers composed of a water-insoluble polysaccharide, preferably chitin or chitosan nanofibers, the carrier is possibly used as a common carrier for various operations including i) suspension culturing, ii) differentiation induction, iii) transport and storage under non-freezing conditions, and iv) transplantation of adhesive cells, and v) recovery of a physiologically active substance from a culture supernatant; and continuous execution of, using said carrier, a plurality of operations selected from among i) suspension culturing, ii) differentiation induction, iii) transport and storage under non-freezing conditions, and iv) transplantation of adhesive cells, and v) recovery of a physiologically active substance from a culture supernatant.
