Abstract:
This invention ensures the security of network communication channels by making it such that if a certificate authority or encryption algorithm is suddenly compromised, use of electronic certificates issued by said certificate authority or using said encryption algorithm is stopped immediately and operation of the affected certificate authority is stopped. An application server (104) detects that a certificate authority (103a) or an encryption algorithm used thereby has been compromised. Via an internal network, said application server (104) directs a device (101a) using a certificate-authority (103a) certificate issued by the aforementioned certificate authority (103a) to stop using said certificate, and via an external network, the application server (104) directs the certificate authority (103a) to stop operating and deletes certificate-authority (103a) certificates issued by the certificate authority (103a) from a trusted list.
